How it works
From empty shelf to supplier order in five steps
1. Track your stock
Add products with their units — pieces, packets, kg or litres — and what's on the shelf. Sales update stock automatically.
2. Discover what needs replenishing
ShelfWise flags items at or below their reorder level, and, once you have sales history, items about to run out.
3. Generate a suggested order
See how much to buy and what it will roughly cost, rounded to your supplier's pack sizes. Adjust anything.
4. Send it on WhatsApp
One tap opens WhatsApp with a clear order message for your supplier, and a link where they confirm it or say it's on the way.
5. Record the delivery
Enter what actually arrived — full or partial — and stock updates instantly with a permanent record.

Questions
Point of sale and stock control for your shop: common questions
What is ShelfWise?
ShelfWise is point of sale and stock software for shops, restaurants, bars, salons and pharmacies. It records sales at the counter, takes M-Pesa, keeps stock up to date, warns you before items run out, prepares supplier orders you send on WhatsApp, and lets customers order or book from your own shop page.
Which businesses is ShelfWise for?
Shops of every kind (dukas, supermarkets, wholesalers, hardware, boutiques, electronics), hotels, restaurants and cafés, bars, salons, barbers and spas, car washes, pharmacies, agrovets, butcheries and bakeries, in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Nigeria. You choose your kind of business when you sign up and ShelfWise sets itself up for it.
Does ShelfWise work with M-Pesa?
Yes. In Kenya you connect your own Paybill or Till through Daraja, Safaricom's M-Pesa API, and Safaricom reports every payment to ShelfWise. The till sends the customer an M-Pesa prompt, and every payment to your Paybill or Till appears in ShelfWise and is matched to its sale, so there are no M-Pesa messages to check by hand. You can find any payment by its code, phone number, name or amount. Elsewhere, you record whether the customer paid by cash, mobile money, card, bank or on credit, with the payment reference.
Can I sell online with ShelfWise?
Yes, in Kenya, on the Business and Pro plans. Turn on your online shop and customers order from your own shop page, choose delivery (with your fee for their area) or pickup, and pay by M-Pesa, card or on delivery. Orders arrive in ShelfWise and stock updates by itself. Your own riders deliver with the ShelfWise Rider app, and customers follow them live on a map.
Can customers book appointments online?
Yes, in Kenya, on the Business and Pro plans. Salons, barbers, spas and car washes take bookings on their shop page: customers choose a service, who they want and a free time. You can ask for a deposit or a booking fee by M-Pesa or card, add phone bookings to the same list, and take payment at the till when they're done.
Does ShelfWise change for my kind of business?
Yes. A restaurant gets tables and kitchen tickets, a salon gets stylists, commission and bookings, a pharmacy gets expiry alerts and a shop gets fast checkout and reordering. You only see the menus you need, each with a line on what it's for.
Do I need a computer?
No. ShelfWise runs on an ordinary Android phone or any computer with a browser, and you can install it to your home screen like an app. The phone camera works as a barcode scanner.
What happens when the internet goes down?
You keep selling. Sales are saved on the phone and sent automatically when you're back online, and recently viewed stock stays readable.
Can I bring in my existing product list?
Yes. Import your products and stock from Excel or CSV, or from another system's export, instead of typing them one by one.
Does someone need to come and set it up?
No. You sign up and set everything up yourself from your phone or computer: your products, your Till or Paybill (through Daraja), staff, the online shop and riders. Nothing needs installing on site, and a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner works as soon as you plug it in or pair it. If you get stuck, chat with us on WhatsApp at +254 768 306 493.
How much does ShelfWise cost?
Plans start from KSh 1,500 a month after a 14-day free trial. You don't need a card or mobile money to start the trial.
Is ShelfWise available in Kiswahili?
Yes. The website and the app work in English and Kiswahili, and each person in your team can choose their language.
